'Bout freaking time....

So OJ is finally behind bars, probably for life. I guess now he won't be able to help the Goldman's find who kill Ron and Denise. I'm sure they are disappointed.

Simpson in isolation, focuses on future appeal

My hope now is that one of those jurors breaks his/her silence, comes out to the press, and just slams Simpson's attorneys for suggesting that he was found guilty as 'payback'. What a HUGE load of shit that is.

That jury did what juries are supposed to do: put people who would assault or threaten people with bodily harm behind bars. There is NO more deserving person to be behind bars than someone who would physically harm us. There just isn't.

Too often, though, it seems that cops and the courts don't do that. They give a free pass to people (usually men) who hurt others. I'm sorry but if you can only put one kind of person in prison, it would be such people. There is CLEARLY a societal benefit to that, which is to truly protect the rest of us.

I am still surprised how casually a lot of people (again, almost always men) take kidnapping. You cannot hold someone against his/her will, that is against the law and you can and will go to jail for a long time for that. You cannot prevent people from leaving your presence unless you are the cops, it's that simple.
