I have a question: what the fuck for?

It isn't as Singletary has somewhere else he needs to head coach anytime soon. It isn't as if he is even a remotely hot head coaching, chic pick anywhere. So why not what until the season ends, the playoffs are over and see what shakes out?

Maybe Mike Holmgren would take up the Niners on an offer to coach them next year. Can't ask until their season is over, which is in all of two days. Why the hurry?

Some other NFL head coach who is better than Singletary is going to get fired after this season. Why not wait to see who else is available then? Again, why the hurry?

There is nothing but good for the Niners to be gained by them waiting a few weeks longer to see who else might be available. If Singletary were to leave in the meantime, so fucking what? While 4-4 isn't bad, no one can say they have seen anything absolutely remarkable about his coaching that would make you think he is going to be a great coach. Except maybe his ass.

This is what is going to happen: Singletary is going to flop next year and they are going to fire him.... one year into a multi-year contract. Yet another waste of money and another year of fans' patience.

Then again, I expect nothing less from the Yorks when it comes to running the Niners into the ground.
